Roaster Spotlight: Gimme Coffee

About the Roaster: Gimme Coffee is based in New York with shops in Ithaca, Trumansburg, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Since 2009, they have been working with coffee farmers in Colombia to attain organic certification and win awards. They are also working to map the arabica coffee genome with the Boyce Thompson Institute to further improve the taste of coffee and make the beans less susceptible to  disease. Gimme coffee has award winning coffees under their belt like their Rwanda Cup of Excellence winner. They are also ranked by the New York Times as one of the best espresso bars in NYC. They were awarded Roaster of the Year in 2013 by Roast Magazine.

Why We Love Them: We are always proud of New York Roasters especially when they are truly talented. Every single coffee Gimme has is excellent and seriously well crafted. When you drink a cup you can tell how much they love doing what they do. We also love what they stand for and the hard work they do to improve the coffee community as a whole. They are dedicated to bringing consumers a great product as well as helping the coffee communities cultivate their businesses.

Our Favorite Coffees From Them: We both love the Kenya Nyeri. It’s so interesting and complex but nice and light still. So many tropical flavors, you can literally sit for hours sipping and find a different flavor every time.
