Black Oak — Ethiopia Wush Wush

Black Oak — Ethiopia Wush Wush

Featured the week of June 15, 2026 — rated 9.9/10 by our tasting team.

We are beyond stoked to welcome an absolute unicorn to your hoppers this week: the Ethiopia Wush Wush from the award-winning team at Black Oak Coffee Roasters. Cultivated by the incredible Mamush Kabtimer in the lush Oromia region, this lot is grown at a staggering elevation of 6,900 to 7,600 feet. But the real magic of this coffee lies in the processing—a meticulous 120-hour dry anaerobic fermentation before being sun-dried on raised beds. By sealing the whole cherries in an oxygen-free environment for five solid days, the roasters turbocharged the development of complex sugars and organic acids. This precise, extended fermentation completely avoids any muddy funk, instead offering an astonishingly clean, wildly expressive cup that safely secures a massive 9.9/10 on our cupping table!
