Thread Coffee’s Ethiopia Telamo is the kind of bag you open and immediately stick your nose in like a cartoon character floating toward a pie (no judgment—this is correct procedure). It’s a medium-roast, organic natural from the Telamo Cooperative in Sidama, and drying the beans inside the cherry is exactly why it tastes so joyfully sweet: blueberry jumps out first, wild cherry follows, jasmine keeps it lifted, and a cozy cacao finish ties it all together. It’s bright without being sharp, fruity without being loud—basically, Ethiopia doing that “how is this even coffee?” thing.

Behind the scenes, Telamo is part of the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (SCFCU)—a network created to help small farmers access markets more transparently and strengthen quality through financial and technical support. The cooperative operates multiple washing stations and a dedicated unit for natural coffees, which is a big reason this cup feels so dialed-in and consistent. Brew it as a pour-over (V60/Kalita) at 1:16, 203–205°F, medium-fine grind, with a 45–60s bloom (naturals like a little extra breathing room) and a 3:00–3:20 finish for sparkling berries and florals. Prefer cozy mode? Drip at ~60g/L gives you a juicy daily cup with that chocolatey tail that makes you go back for “one last sip” three times.
